probably not..consult your contract or builderIf a new house is pre-wired for ceiling fans, is a brace bar for the fans already installed also?
It should be as part of the local electrical codes if the work was done by a licensed professional. If a new house is pre-wired for ceiling fans, is a brace bar for the fans already installed also?
NEVER assume....(you know what ';they'; say about assuming)....pre-wiring does NOT necessarily mean that the brace is in place....check yourself or hire an electrician before hanging a heavy ceiling fan....a little caution goes a LONG way!!!!
Definitely check with the contractor.
Any reputable builder probably used to put in blocking or a bracer bar for the ceiling fan if they were wiring for them. However, many of the new ceiling fans do not require them so builders have stopped installing them.
There may be enough support in your ceiling depending on what kind of roof trusses were used.
Again, best to check because there are several factors that could determine whether or not this has been done.
Iam acontractor and all the homes I work in already have the brace bar installed
