ONE room in my new house has a chemical-like odor and insect infestation. What should I do?

I don't know where to start looking for the cause...Are they related? Is there a hole in the floor? I can use a bug bomb, but I want to get rid of the smell also and I want to prevent it from becoming a problem again (I'm expecting and it's my baby's room!).ONE room in my new house has a chemical-like odor and insect infestation. new house, as in sold to you brand new? if so, call the contractor immediately and make him put it right. if not brand new, open your eyes and look for the cause. we can't see the floor to look for a hole. it's not unusual for a house that's been unoccupied for a while to have insects. set off a bug bomb, close the door and then air it out thoroughly the next day. chemical odor may be an earlier attempt at debugging the room. if the problem is on-going look outside or under the house to find source.ONE room in my new house has a chemical-like odor and insect infestation.
