I just got a new key for my house, and the old one still works, but the new one doesn't. If the keys aren't perfect- is there a way I can kind of make the new one less sharp or something?Why won't my new house key work?
take it back to who cut it to put it right,failing that , ask a key cutter if he could look at it,maybe needs a little filing down,even you could do it,just match them up and see what needs shaving down, trial and errorWhy won't my new house key work?
You can try putting in a bit of vaseline( dip the key ) and work it into the lock...or you can try filing it down...if all else fails take it back and re-cut another ...But I would certainly try the above solutions first.
