I recently moved my fish tank to my new house. I have a Tiger Oscar and a HAD a plecostimus.?

The pleco died. The oscar darn near. He also MOURNED the other fish dying. They were put in the tank at same time. How come one fish would die and not the other?? The pleco was tough.. i'm shocked.. No i didnt have conditioner.. i had a bottle but i punctured it. moving the stuff and pet store closes and wal mart didnt have it in stock.I recently moved my fish tank to my new house. More than likely it was just the stress of being moved. Fish, regardless of how tough they appear, are actually rather fragile creatures.I recently moved my fish tank to my new house. I have a Tiger Oscar and a HAD a plecostimus.?
Saving water doesn't even really matter much, unless your tank was neglected in the first place. I've moved so many times and never brought more water then it takes to bring the fish and filter.

What is more important is that you preserved your bacteria to keep the tank cycled. Did you keep the filter media wet in fish water for the move and keep the decorations and gravel moist as well? If not ammonia very well might be it.

Did you run the tank for a couple of hours before adding the fish? If not there is also a possiblility that the water was low on oxygen, as water straight out of the tap tends to have less.

And, of course, you didn't use conditioner. That's enough said there.
The reason your pleco died and not your tiger oscar is because Cichlids are far less sensitive to water then plecos. Because you changed your fish tank, ammonia and chlorine that built up in your tank killed your pleco. It floated up and tried coming down a few times but eventually died am i right? Your tiger oscar stayed at the bottom of the tank and hardly moved am i right? i thought so. Also your tank was cloudy white colored and your fish were inactive. This is called a bacterial bloom. it is because your tank was not cycled
