We just moved into a new house. They have a 2-tier fish pond. I can't find a website to go to see how 1 works

There is a pump with a fountain. I think I am missing parts but don't know what to order as I don't understand the workings of the 2 tier pond. I don't know how to pump the water back to the top tier so it can flow over the rocks to the bottom. The tubing seems to be cemented in also. Thank YouWe just moved into a new house. Go to the link I am going to give you. In the middle of the page (right next to the ad, of course) is a list of gardening projects. Select ';Waterscapes.'; You will be taken to a page which will let you select all or some of the episodes that the DIYNetwork (Do-It-Yourself) has aired about installing different kinds of ponds, what equipment you need, how to assemble it, maintain it, etc. I feel certain you will find one that matches the pond you have.

I have a two tier pond at my house also and my suggestion to you would be to go to youre local pet store for help. Some places will come out to your house and help you but at least if you go to a local place you will have a better idea as to what supplies are readily available to you.

As for how it works, without actually seeing youre pond, There should be a pump either in the pond or in the skimmer box (a box at the opposite end of the pond from the waterfall that the water spills into which contains a filter) the water is then pumped up to the upper pond where it comes out the falls and back down to the pump to begin the cycle again. You may have a U.V. sterilizer either in the filter or in the line going to the upper pond.

If your pump is not working you might check the filter to make sure it is not just plugged up or not plugged in but if it still won't work take the pump to the pet store and they will probably either have the parts or be able to get them for you, most likely an impeller kit. Also if there is a lot of algae in the water that will plug your filter have the store check your salt level in the pond by taking a FRESH sample of water, about a half pint should be plenty. Uniodized salt will help keep the fish healthy and the algae down. Your pet store should be able to help with this also, if they know what they are talking about they will be a valuable resource in the future, if they dont find another pet or garden store.
