I was able to buy this house through a special loan program %26amp; I was just so happy to be a new homeowner that I ignored the things I didnt like about it. Well, it's been 4 years %26amp; I'm not happy here at all. I feel hemmed in from the closeness of the neighbors, the cooking area is just a nook, small living room, not enough windows %26amp; no front view. There were a few good points to it...big front porch, new windows %26amp; a new furnace. I just cant warm up to this place %26amp; I've tried hard to like it. Also I made such a big deal of it to my family, it would be embarrasing to let them know how I feel. Would you move if you were unhappy in a house? No interest in new house..should I move %26amp; rent out or sell?
i would ur home is an extension of u...u go there for comfort, peace and security...i would sell or rent it outNo interest in new house..should I move %26amp; rent out or sell?
Don't ever rent out a house - headaches to no end!
Sure. Why stay in a place you don't like?
But to answer your main question, more info would be useful. Can you afford to buy a second house for yourself while keeping this one as a rental? If your area is like mine, nothing much is selling right now. It is a buyer's market. There are some very good deals to be made.
We put our house on the market over 4 months ago after renovating it (new just about everything) and we haven't got one single offer although we've had plenty of visits. Not only are we turning it into a rental but we bought another one to do the same with and wish we could buy more.
But before deciding one way or the other, get a book on the rental business and find out if it is something you want to get involved in?
Good luck.
The bloom can come off the rose quickly when you move into a house. We've been in ours for 3 years and I never realized just how much work there is in a house.
I've seriously said to my wife that after the kids leave, we should go back to an apartment, because all the work involved in keeping the house won't be worth it.
